We've been having lots of fun with these magnetic numbers (like this messy jelly playtime) recently so I decided to make a little fishing game to keep the fun going...
I made a rod with a lolly stick, string and a giant paperclip, then gave the kiddos a bucket of letters and numbers to 'fish' with.
I planned to fill the bowl with water to make it extra fun, but the letters sank to the bottom, magnet side down and would have been impossible to play!
Each time Vin caught a letter or number I called it out for him and he set them out on a magnetic whiteboard to explore further
As well as number/letter recognition, this also works on hand eye coordination, fine motor skills, colour recognition and is a good opportunity to start talking about science with the kiddos.
